Massive snail population

    I don't know what section to put this in but i have upwards of what has to be 200 snails. they are all white and not much bigger than the size of pinheads. Really like a couple of millimeters. i don't know too much about them since they only really come out at night but there are so many. the rocks and the ground are littered with them. what do i do about this or do i just leave them be?

    be thankful! they will be a free clean up crew that will do your tank wonders!!!

    +1 Agreed....leave them. If they grow to be too big and take over, then make some $$. Enjoy while you have them, more than likely they are very beneficial and do nothing but good.

    are you sure these are snails? could they be copepods?

    Yes, please post a pic of them to be sure of what you have.

    FWIW. not all snails are beneficial. If you have pyramellid snails those are clam parasites and will kill any clams you have, or may have in the future.

    Most likely these are colonista snails, but we need to verify that.

    sorry i dont have a picture yet but they are normal looking snails with all white snails that twist. they're probably going to take forever to grow but i guess i will just leave them. i dont think theres anything i could really do anyway lol
