Hello all. Ok, all you Math whizzes(you know who you are);), can some one tell me, based on the following from the GA Power Web site, approx. how much $$ it would cost to run 3-250 watt, 5 hrs per day and 2x96 11 hrs a day. I'm trying to get a reasonable estimate of what lights would cost to operate per day to give to my hubby and as you all well know, I suck at math. I really appreciate your help on this!!:)(not sure if this is even a correct lighting cycle, if not feel free to correct me!)

    Energy Charges:
    June through September:
    On-Peak kWh@...............................................17.5518¢ per kWh
    Off-Peak kWh@.................................................3.9684¢ per kWh
    October through May:
    All kWh@.................................................3.9684¢ per kWh

    Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    A lot! j/k

If these lights are being run during just peak hours:

    3 * 250w * 5 hours = 3750 watt hours or 3.75 kWh.

    2 * 96w * 11 hours = 2112 watt hours or 2.112 kWh.

    2.112 + 3.75 = 5.862 kWh.

    5.862 kWh * 17.5518 = $1.03 per day.

Thanks Reeron, That was QUICK! Thank you!!!! naw, not as bad as he makes it out to be. figuring 30 days about 32 bucks a month not bad at all. I think all I'd need to do is, turn off the desktop and not use the oven as much, not use the self clean mode and use easy off instead:lol: hmmmm what else would I need to cut off....... Getting to be fall so a/c will get turned off once it gets under 80 during the day. I already turn off lights and fans in rooms that we are not in and I don't watch tv very often. I would even hang clothes on a clothes line(you kids out there, probably, have never even seen one lol) What else??? I don't use blow dryers or curling irons and I refuse to give up my electric toothbrush! LOL not a cavity in 6 years of using one.....thinking............

do y'all know what your electric company is charging for electric? is it comparable to what GA Power charges?

I was just looking around on the website for Wisconsin's energy provider and it looks like its a fixed charge of $8.40/mo then an additional 10.670¢ per kWh.

To run the setup you listed, I think that comes out to roughly 10¢ cheaper per day here in WI than for you in GA.

    Dominion Virginia Power charges
    Jun-Sep: 6.306/kWh for the first 800 kWh then 7.311/kWh over 800
    Oct-May: 6.306/kWh for the first 800 kWh then 4.465/kWh over 800

Apparently electric bills are almost as complicated as cable bills.

I also did that "homework" before up grading yrs ago and my estimated cost was $15.00 per month. You can call the elec. company and they will answer your questiion as they did mine. Luna
