I'll look into the fiddler. By the way, I just upgraded the bulbs to CF. same fixture but now I have the crispness of florescent lighting. 28w of it. I just don't see the point in buying a brand new fixture when all I'm growing is mangroves and softies. This should be plenty.

Looking good buddy. But topping that tank off is going to be a huge PITA! Especially because of the waterfall. It might be more beneficial to your system to put some more water in it. Plus isnt that loud? lol Ive kept clown gobies before, but they can be hard to feed. They are so freakin small that most foods are simply too big. I might try one in my mangrove tank. I would have to second the idea of a cheap t5 unit as well. But regardless, Im glad to see your progress. Its coming along nicely. :)

Thanks norg!;) topping off hasn't been bad so far. I top off directly into the ac70. It's not too loud. The sound is kinda relaxing. The water doesn't just dump into the tank, it purculates[IMG]I'm up for the challenge with the clown goby:D if I do go t5, I'll just get one of these...http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003WYY6SI/ref=mp_s_a_2?qid=1330658697&sr=8-2

looks good, you could maybe pull the rock out and put a planter with mangroves behind it. then you could have a little more land if you decided to get some fiddlers or something. planteres can easily be hidden with sand or crushed coral.

you know just a little pot you fill with soil and sand to plant the mangroves in. i dont think that thin layer of sand you have will be enough for them.

OHHHHH. I won't be planting directly in the sand. The mangroves will be attached to scourers, the roots will have to grow out to reach the sand bed. The roots will become part of the aquascape.

this will take a while to achieve and in the meantime it would be best for them to be anchored in a planter imo.

2" isn't enough? I just don't like the look of pots.
