    Ehh. Should be fine. I plan on using the welstad method, the plants will suit the fishes needs and vise versa. Should be almost self sustainable.

    Lol yeah. All i need is dirt, gravel, plants and fish! If i add a bunch of plants at once, will i need to cycle?

    lol ya, no dirt. well, actually the dirt you can get from miracle grow, with a good npk number, will suit shrimp tanks well. youll need to cycle no matter what, but the plants dying off will help spike ammo up. i wouldnt add all the plants at the beginning. just a cheap and hardy one to cycle it and then add the rest. i personally love saggitarius (i think thats what its called). i like how it looks like grass. amazon swords are cool to, i like the runners on it. i have had no luck with anacharis but love its look. id also look into cabomba, it grew like crazy for a while in mine, then just stopped.

    Sweet! I'll need your help with this tank, it's my first planted:) I'll just cycle
    with a cube of mysis, then add plants and a few fish.

    How does this stock look?

    5 neon tetras
    1 male betta

    Would they be compatible? I'd also like some ideas for a bottom dweller.
