Should i add a flame angel as my 4th and final fish?

  1. No, i wouldn't risk it with the corals.

  2. go for it! as long as you keep it fed it shouldn't be an issue.

I really believe ditching the hood is a good idea. Here is a great solution:
DIY screen top for aquariums - YouTube
The video explains the cons of the top you currently have.
The PAR30 is a great idea, and they'll probably go on sale for 80$ with clamp around Christmas.

I'll definatly look into upgrading the lights. I'll have to spend 50$ on bulbs when I add corals do I guess I might as well add 30$ to that and get the par30.

As for the rockwork... I've finalized it and a video will be up tonight!!!!

The only thing is that it takes away from the "sleek" look of the tank.

You want to do just one par30 bulb?

I don't know if I want to do anything that requires taking the hood off. Will the water falling into the back like a waterfall be enough gas exchange? I like the retrofit because it fits in the hood.

When I took the hood off of my biocube I lost alot of water. I had two par 30s on my 14 and it was lit but I would have preferred more. I think your best bet is to do a diy LED retrofit. You can grow anything you want for the extra bucks and you get to keep your hood. It seems well worth it.

Cool! Do you have a link to a DIY retrofit?
