Should i add a flame angel as my 4th and final fish?

  1. No, i wouldn't risk it with the corals.

True. But did you factor in adding the nano controller? Which is another 70 bucks. And if you did your own LED unit there would be more power than 35 watts. And you can control which LEDs are going into the mix. If you want the best deal and the highest amount of power DIY LEDs are the way you will want to go. I dont think anyone can really even argue that. lol

Your best option for the RapidLED kit would be to buy the Rapid controller (for 2 channels) or a Typhon controller from Boost LED (can be used for up to 4 separate channels). So that would be about Another $60.

Yes. They can be controlled via an Apex unit if you decide to get one in the future or to buy the rapid or boost controllers. The SOL is a nice unit, but the color spectrum is still lacking IMO. Corals can look great under them but they might not keep those colors for long.

Hmm. The rapidled only carrys royal blue, blue, crisp white, same as the AI . I wont be getting anything special like magenta either way. Plus, the AI's
controller is more in-depth. I can still dial in the color spectrum with the AI. Plus, thunderstorms, lunar cycle, clouds ect.

If your willing to spend some money and wait a while you could get the Mazzara X series, they're supposed to be $200 and have some nice lighting.:)

I thought the slave unit of the mazarra x series was $200 and the master was $300. Though I think the controller is included with the master unit, IIRC
