Should i add a flame angel as my 4th and final fish?

  1. No, i wouldn't risk it with the corals.

  2. go for it! as long as you keep it fed it shouldn't be an issue.

Cool. 8 more months and I should have mine finally! The most important thing for my right now is an rodi unit. I do not want to spend 10$/month on water. :s

    I must be spending about... 7G/wk x 4 wks x $0.83

    ...$24.23 per month on water.

Perhaps an RODI unit should be added to the list of things.

It only took me about 6 months to get a decent cheap light lol. My goal is LEDs of course.

How are you guys doing ATO? I too do not have room for a resovior and keep an unsightly 5g water jug nearby. Would love to figure out a way to have ATO, but I am super limited with space in the back of my Biocube. Slimskim, chaeto, pump, heater. No room for a big block looking float valve. :-/

How about an ato switch from AutoTopoff.com and hook it up to a pump from an ato resevior in your cabinet?

Is it that simple? Would I have my pump submersed in for example a Rubbermade bucket filled with RoDi? Looks like a pretty neat little mechanism that would save me the hassle. Although what I do now is not very hard at all. I have my water level marked so I know exactly where to refill -- then I take a 1gal jug Arizona Tea jug cleaned and filled with RoDi with some Kalkwasser powder, and then I drip for about 2 hours. I do this maybe twice a week? And my water level and salinity seems to be very consistent

I've had every ATO setup imaginable in the past, but in one way or another they have all failed. Nowadays, I run a line from my RO unit with a valve, and check it every day. Open the valve until it's at the right level, shut it off, and sleep soundly. It takes me 3-4 minutes a day, and is well worth it. Now, if I'm going to be away for a few days it's a different story. Last time I paid a neighbor to come over once a day and top it off. Was well worth the money.

What about the The Optima Automated RO/DI System? I started a thread about this and has a lot of good info in it. http://www.3reef.com/forums/purely-h20/optima-automated-ro-di-system-127077.html
