Should i add a flame angel as my 4th and final fish?

  1. No, i wouldn't risk it with the corals.

  2. go for it! as long as you keep it fed it shouldn't be an issue.

If I were to put a filter sock from my freshwater set up into the biocube for the cycle would it speed it up? This is what I'll do... Use pure ammonia(how much?), the filter sock, and pour a bottle of API stress zyme that I have laying around(it probably won't help much).

I honestly don't know if the bacteria cultures are the same from FW to SW, so I'm not sure putting the filter sock in your FW tank would really help. Why try some Microbacter7 or Dr. Tim's? Then you wouldn't even really have to add ammonia.

I would totally do it but I'm officially down to 0$. Lol. I think ill just do pure ammonia. I hear it helps with a fast cycle.

    Update- JUST ORDERED THE RODI!!!!!!!

I also made this lovely frag rack...it's right by the output of the return pump and is about 3" from the light. I figure most of my frags will be montipora.

Make your next purchase is a TDS meter. This way you can monitor the health of your RODI system.

Also I bought a infrared thermometer to monitor the water temp going into the RODI system. I got mine from Bulk Reef Supply and they mentioned to keep the water temp @ 70 F for optimal performance.

I must warn you against pure ammonia, They will raise too much ammonia even in very little usage, more than you need for cycling a reef tank.

It's not something to worry about but it will result in a very very long cycling process, Why not add Dr Tims one and only or the biospira?

I guess you could just use a raw shrimp.

Thank you I didn't know that. I'll just use a dead shrimp.

You would NEED to add dead shrimp. Without a source of ammonia, nitrogen fixating bacteria in the sand and rock will have no source of food and the tank will take a looong time to cycle.
