Should i add a flame angel as my 4th and final fish?

  1. No, i wouldn't risk it with the corals.

  2. go for it! as long as you keep it fed it shouldn't be an issue.

Mine aren't either, the problem is that the powerhead makes a loop current that disturbs it. I'm thinking I should just remove the sugar sand. My YWG and CUC will mess with it. How should I do this? I can just leave my 1" sand bed of larger grain.

It will be difficult. The only way I have ever removed sand is by using a Solo cup lol. You could siphon it out. That should be easy enough to do.

I would siphon but that would remove alot of water too. Hmmm..... Maybe the solo cup is a good idea.

Well, you aren't adding and fish at the moment, so there is no need for the additional flow right now. You could wait for the cycle to finish and then siphon that sand out. If you use a Solo cup, you will most likely remove more sand then you want. You could also siphon the sand into a bucket, then use a Solo cup to remove the sand from the bucket, then put the water back into the tank.

That would be alot easier. I'm going to go for it. I hate this sand with a passion.

Lol. I siphoned some out. My water is milk so I won't be able to see how much I got for a few days. I lost the shrimp. He's buried somewhere. This sucks.

It's about a 1:10 sand to water ratio. I'm tempted to siphone all the water out and remove the sand that way. I have all night to fill the tank back up.

I don't know if I would do that. You can, but why. I would just let the sand settle and then take some more out. I know that you want it to get it done while you don't have to worry about school though. ;D I would just hate for you to prolong your cycle is all.

Yeah me too... Hmm. I could just empty the water into a container and put it back in when I'm done? That way I don't waste water.
