I would definitely look at getting more snails than that. Hermits can be cool but don't do the job that snails do. Also peppermint shrimp is not CUC.

Alright I've got a few things....

1. I brought the media basket back. I really need the mechanical filtration. How often should I change filter floss?

2. My nitrates are still at 10:/ hopefully now with the chaeto and direct flow through the purigen it will go down.

3. If I can get my nitrates down the plan is to get the 10000k bulb and a frag or two in about a week. Would a torch or frogspawn be a good idea?

I would start with a softie.. It's a little risky but if you have low trates and high light, you'll be good.

 

Cool, if my trates are 0 then I'll get one. If not just a softie.
