That would drive me crazy. But thats the old drafter in me. lol. I'm suddenly thinking I should take my 20H and use it as a sump for a 40B instead. Mehtinks the gf would kill me though.

He probably drilled it that way on purpose. He will use the lowest hole for the full siphon standpipe on the bean animal system. It helps to get the siphon started quicker.

Insane is exactly right. It is much easier to start the siphon this way. It took FOREVER to drill those holes! Idk if anyone noticed but I did it in a bathtub lol. I am getting all the necisary stuff in Friday from marine depot to get this tanl ready to cycle. All I would need then are lights and a skimmer. I just put my sump together too. I will post pics later. I'm super excited guys.

Great job on drilling!!!!! and congrats on the progress as well. Nerve racking huh? Thinner glass is a lot harder than thick one like mine. You really did a great job. I dont see any chips, you should be proud.

everything is looking great! You've def done your research. You gotta be having fun with the progress. Can't wait to see the sump and plumbing complete and the rock/sand/water in there

What color are you painting the back?

I understand why people do the blue background, but yeah, I hear ya on not liking it. I myself will be doing a black background as well. Once i finish scraping the rest of the silicone off the top rim of my tank.
