How long should i let it mix? I won't be adding anything other than live rock, sand, and the mandatory grocery store shrimp.

Since you have nothing in the tank, I'd say an hour or two but I'm no expert. Long enough for the salt to completely mix and the temp to get right.

Man I've been dealing with a dripping bulkhead for what seems like forever :p Leaks can be a pain but i guess it depends on where the leak is happening, then figuring out whats causing it, and testing it again. Just let it run fresh water for a day and keep an eye on everything

No need to be jealous, you know I have never had any experience with plumbing, and the only experience with building anything with wood was from woods 1 in highschool.

Looks like you've been doing it for years 8)
I was the same way, no experience at all. I was too intimidated to try to beananimal design, wish I would have though. First couple times going to lowes for plumbing I probably looked lost as hell lol

All ready to start the leak test?

Thanks man, and that's how I looked too Lmao I was just staring at all the connections. And yea its all ready for the test. The pipe cement states to wait 3 hours till it dries. I finished the plumbing yesterday so once I get home I get to start filling it with 5gallon buckets lol.

I do not have a garden hose faucet because I live in an apartment. And my ro/di has that type of connecter. What should i do?

I forget, what kind of sand did you end up getting?

I got the marcorocks fine aragonite. I bought some paint strainer bags and put it in the bucket. I dont think its good to use tap water but I didn't want to waste the precious RO/DI water, so I used the water that comes out of the yellow hose of the spectrapure unit (which usually just drains into the sink anyways)

I've got a gallon pitcher I poured about 5 gallons over each batch I rinsed. Running my hand through it to mix it around between.

I didn't get any pictures of the process but heres one from google to get a better idea of what I mean
