I measure using a 1/2 c. measuring cup. Weight is the most accurate way to measure it, but certainly not the most practical. Most people don't have scales at home. lol.

I use a little less then 1/2cup per gallon. Let it mix for a while with a powerhead and the add more salt or water to adjust. I run mine around 1.025 SG

Its a good idea to use a separate thermometer to verify the water temp. I keep mine around 78-78.5. For me to do that I keep my heater temp set at 79.

Anyone that cooks should have a kitchen scale. I had to get one after this cookbook I got was all in weight and not volume.

1/2 cup a gal is good for Fowler(21-23). Add 2 more tablespoons to get it upto reef levels(24-26).

Guys I'm concerned about my rodi unit. I just replaced the sediment and carbon block filters. My tds meter reads 7 in and 14 out.

Some updates, this is taking forever to fill! What I did was add most of the salt needed to a 35 gallon trash can, kept adding ro water until it resolved, and added the water to the tank. I keep checking the salinity to make sure more isn't needed, but of course since the tank is not close to full the needle on my hydromitor just goes straight up.

It was really clear, but i was unhappy with the aquascape, so... Well you know the rest. Hopefully it clears again soon since its not as bad so i can adjust the scape to how I like it
