Watch the mithrax crab.. I had a black mithrax that hitch hiked on something. When I first saw it it was about eraser tip width, and within like 2 months it was about half dollar size. It was taking chunks out of my goby, and was a serious b*tch to catch. So just keep an eye out!

Disaster struck today. My full food container of sinking pelets fell into my tank. I shut everything off and I quickly got my 10 gal out and placed a live rock into it along with all my fishes and coral. I used some of the water from my dt and filled the 10 up. After they where save I took all my live rock and put it in a container with some of my water. I made a batch of about 30 gallons of water in my ro Di 35 gallon container and placed my live rock as well as a powerhead and a pump to keep it circulated. Then I had to empty all my water out and remove my now useless sand. I ordered 40 lb from Marco rocks and am now waiting for that to come in to set everything up. The reason why this happened? Because of my carelessness. I always kept my food on top of my light fixture and today just happened to be the day I placed it wrong and fell into my tank. Sigh add that to the rule book. Never place anything above the rim of the tank that you do not want inside the tank. Lesson learned

Thank you. Any advise as far as trying to keep my livestock happy in my 10 gal while I wait for the sand?

Just a question, Why didn't you just try to suction out all of the food with something like a python instead of trashing everything? That is what I would've tried first honestly.
