    I will probably return the return kit for a 1 inch return kit and use that hole saw to cut all my holes. I hope they let me do this =\

    When I had my old 29, the 1/2" return kit was what I used. For the overflow, I had 1" overflow kit.

    You think the 1/2 inch is enough for my 40b? And as for the return pump I am still taking suggestions

    A lot of people love Mag Drives even tho they add heat to the system. They are reliable in my experience (except for the one that I got off eBay used).
    Your sump is 20gallon, and itd hold like 16gallon water when you fill it up. 6~10x sump water volume is supposed to be the flow of the return, so you might look into getting 160gph after the headloss. ie:Mag Drive3 or Rio 8HF (these would push more than 160gph with the 4' height, but some people like more flow than others. )
    And I think 1/2" return is fine.
