LOL yea. The only thing im not to thrilled about is that I bought the glass to short. About 1/4" to short from both sides, youch. I hope the silicone holds up. =\

Alright I think it looks good. Now my question is where should I drill my return? I was thinking maybe bellow the overflow? Anyone have any ideas

Uh..I probably would have done it at the same height. I prefer the semi C2C so the retur line will be at the same height at, but outside of the box. With a full C2C, some people drill the back of the tank as well as the front glass to their overflow. But I guess below will work too.

When you turn off the pump, the water will drop down (gravity) to the height of the return in your DT. So you'll have to leave that many gallons in your sump, because that's where it's going.

lol. I ordered the glass only 1/8" shorter than the length, to give a bit of wiggle room for the glass/silicone. But with 1/2"...I think you might be ok still?

It all seems well now. I plan on doing some sort of check valve for my return so that doesn't happen and it floods my living room

Some people avoid check valves like a plague. They might work first, but they will fail eventually. I dont have any on mine either. insanespain drilled through the overflow box, thats what I wouldve done if I went full c2c, like this. This way, you can install the return towards the top so the water doesnt drain back to the sump as much when the return pump is turned off.

Looking at the check valves. They seem to add a lot of restriction to the return line. I would go with the siphon break method.
