    Agreed, I have the same mod on my 1200's in a 72 gallon bow. Try this switch the inpellors out as you should of recieved 2 of them and scale it down. All my fish swim up to and around the power heads and never have an issue so i would have to agree with guitar.

    I am sorry for your loss and would be weary of putting a metal shield in the tank as it may rust.

    No healthy fish should ever get sucked up into a maxijet 900- they definitely do not have enough force to suck a healthy fish into it.

    Now if your fish are sick or extremely weak, than maybe... (hint hint)
