So there I was last night cleaning the filter material from one of my maxi-1200 flow pumps mounted to the side of my tank, when I thought...I don't need this restrictor, all my fish are big! I tested the intake with no foam or guard, and it was more than double, but figured a fish could get off it if sucked in. My dogface puffer usually sleeps on top(hindsight), woke up to a softball sized puffer stuck to the intake of the little pump!! I unplugged it, and when he deflated, it still( 2 hours later looks like he has the worse sucker bite you have ever seen on his belly. Hope he makes it, acts fine now. and he must be happy that I replaced the restrictor. Nick

I've had a fish or two in my lifetime get hickeys from water pumps. :)
