MaxiJet 1200 LOUD

    Just bought an AquaC Remora with MaxiJet 1200 for my 28g Nano Cube. I know skimmers and pumps have a break in period, but holy cow the pump is insanely loud! It's brand new from marine depot. It appears to be working correctly despite the noise, but has anyone else had the same experience of it being loud? I have to close my bedroom door on the opposite side of my apartment not to hear it. Any suggestions? Possible bad pump?

    sounds like an impeller issue, unplug the pump and inspect the impeller- your included instructions will show how to do this.

    i just installed the remora HOB skimmer with the maxijet pump. you will notice the pump to be loud and should go away in a week or two. mine took more than a week to break in and now is quiet and all you hear is the water being injected to the chamber to produce bubbles. you will also notice that it produces microbubles that sometimes escape to the tank. give it time to break in. you will love that skimmer.
