I'm getting a new tank in the next few weeks, most likely a deep blue 48" x 24" x 16" - will be all SPS and I really like the slim design of the maxspect razor - first off, anyone advise against it? Second, could I get away with one 27"?

    Thanks!

One 27" would be iffy for a 4ft tank with all sps, would probably have to be hung high and used near full power to get full coverage.I have the 20" over a three ft mounted about 10inches above the water and am getting shading at the sides.Mine is a mixed reef and I really like the light, the timer system works really nice and is easy to use.For a 4ft all sps tank I think two 20" units would work really well and look great.

Awesome, thanks - how do you find the colors? Can you adjust the LEDs to look more 20k or can you only adjust the brightness?

Would one radion work? I'm going to have the corals more in the center, somewhat of a lagoon type aquascape, with 5-6" of space on either end. The radion is a bit more expensive as well, so two would sting the wallet. I'm trying to keep the cost within reason as im buying the tank, a new skimmer, and a controller.

Two 20 inch Razors, Radions aren't nearly as good IMO.

How do the razors compare to the AI Sol? I've seen a lot of talk about them on here, but no definitive conclusion on which one is better.

The timer system allows for adjustment of the blues and whites seperately and you choose the intensity for each at six different times of day.I was surprized to find that it also transitions from one setting to the next gradually which allows for a really nice dawn to dusk effect.I have my blues on at 1% overnight for moonlight.

I can't give any comparison as I've never used an AI or Radion. From what I've read those are both very good lights and work well for lighting the same area as a 20" razor. What drew me to the razor is the slim clean look and ease of use,I'm not exactly a techy lol.
