LFS is running a 30% off special on tanks with stands this week, going to do my damnedest to talk the wife into letting me rack the discover bill up to pickup the 140 with stand I've been eyeing

it's a 140 tall also so it's a super nice tank I love the depth and the fact it's only a 48" still means it fits in my condo muahahaha

lol at todays prices you cant afford to not buy it! Plus offset the price you'd get for selling the current one! Makes it even more worthwhile!

Buying a tank on sale is like putting hot fudge on your sundae, if you've been planing on a new tank, being a women, we usually jump at the chance to buy something!

well all I have now is the 58g which I've already promised to my wife's boss he's dying for this thing and has already been buying livestock to put in it lol

I have a empty 75g with stand and a 30g sump in storage so that sump may come to use and I'll sell the tank/stand combo it's drilled and has 2 corner overflows

I'll keep the 24g nano and move it to the baby's room for the nightlight as my wife is calling it

even if I get this 140 I won't be able to set it up for some time, I'll have to get the lighting and LR/LS situated for it along with all the other hardware but you can't start without an aquarium IMO

the only thing I would warn against is the tall. I have a 55 gal tall (not for much longer ;D) and thought I would love it, but ended up hating it because it is sooo much harder for me to clean it and just do basic maintance on it. My arms are not long enough, and I have to haul out a step stool (not the worse thing I know) but it is also a pain to deal with. Also need to plan a little more if you are going to keep coral due to the depth. But I say go for the tank while it is on sale.....just think about the tall. Just my opinion

I've always had a preference to tall tanks, different strokes for differnt folks I know but I love them, my 58 is the tall also, think that's why I hate my 75 long, only reason I bought it was because it was to good of a deal to pass up, $100 for a drilled tank, sump and stand

Although I do think 3.99/4.99 a lb for LR is a bit outrageous. .30-.75 cents a lb is about right IMO. I mean come on.... It's rock!

I was going to say the same thing. I made that mistake yrs ago with my 45g tall. What a P.I.T.A. this is to move things around and clean inside. Not to mention that fish have a tendency to swim horizontally and not so much vertically. But as you stated, thats your personal pref. Good luck pursuading your wife, try throwing in some pair of shoes for her in the deal.;D And if you do achieve your goal, we want pics mister!! Luna

well, big reason why this size, I want an Achilles tang badly, need a 100+ g tank to achieve this and I have a 48" max length to deal with, hence the 140g tank
