I used it for a while. It really clears up the water, but didn't really do much else - it did not affect my parameters at all, that I could tell. I used it in conjunction with vodka dosing. Now I just vodka dose without the MB7/ It caused my skimmer to go nuts and overflow so I stopped using it.

I dose vodka only now and have a steady kalk drip going to keep params stable and the tank has never been better.

I think I've seen this for sell in some shop on Diagon Alley.

Seriously though, there are a handful of folks around here that recommend these sorts of products.

I am pretty sure this is one of those concentrated bottles of bacteria ::) that causes an influx of essentially bacteria that will eat up your ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, etc.... the part they leave off is that this stuff then dies off itself causing spikes in... yip. Or so I've read. Anyway, the end result is you get yourself caught in a cycle of adding it every couple of months and your tank no longer can develop a healthy self-sustaining population of bacteria.

This sort of product is for short term gains at the expense of long term goals, IMO.

Microbacter 7 is the cornerstone of the Brightwells Aquatics NEOZEO probiotics line. In a nutshell it is bacteria. You add it too your tank, the bacteria consumes nutrients from your water column, (NO3 and PO4). Your protein skimmer then removes the "gut loaded" bacteria along with the nutrients. The product works very well.

LOL, if used correctly it works for its' intended purpose very well. It will greatly reduce nutrients, increase your skimmer's efficiency, and improve water clarity. It is not a magic potion. I would recommend a sound understanding of probiotics prior to using this product.

I have many friends with large tanks that swear by MB7
I'm using some Brightwell products and believe they do work quite well.

1 of my good friends has a 300G tank with 2 Dragon eels and 2 small sharks and 4 very Large Tangs. MB7 is what he attributes his zero nitrates to

Thanks for all the posts. Based on this info MB7 works on a tank that is larger as stated and/or a tank that has a large Bioload with lots of fish. In my case I have alot of fish and have trouble with nitrates caused by left over detris and it would appear that this is one of the targeted rimidies that this product offers. It probably will not effect a very productive tank that already has good parameters, hence the toss in the garbage. IMO
