MD's 10 gallon rimless

:happydance: Hi, I have had a FW tank for about a year now. I have learned a lot since being on N-R. I have decided to take down my FW tank and get a 10 gallon reef going.

Specs:
Display: 10 gallon Marina kit with canopy taken off
Lighting: 24" FNI 2 bulb T5 fixture
Bulbs: Stock FNI bulbs, blue and white
Rock: 4 lbs of Marco Key Large dry rock(big white one in FTS) and 5.4 lbs of man made live rock(2 red ones)
Substrate: CaribSea Aragonite Premium grade reef sand(10 lbs)
Filtration: AC70 with inTank media basket....Chemi-Pure Elite, Filter floss, and puragen
Circulation: KNano 240
Heater: Visi-Therm 100w


Parameters:
Temp: fluctuates from 78-80
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: o ppm
Nitrate: 0 ppm
pH: 8.3


Maintenance:
Daily: Top off with RO-DI water....no canopy institutes a lot of evap, and will feed prolly 2 times/day when I get livestock...
Every other day during cycle: Test parameters
Weekly: Water change, change filter floss, post pics on N-R, blow off rocks...
Monthly: Get new water
Bi-Monthly: Get new filter media...and food...
Yearly: Replace bulbs, take all equipment out and clean it...


Tank is now set up...I love it...so fun to watch...those hermits are a hoot

I thought about dosing, but I dont think I will...I was given almost the whole AquaVitro line and I use AquaVitro salt....Y'all can advise me on that...

• Pair of Rod's Onyx clowns

Inverts:

• 3x Sexy Shrimp
• varios snails and hermits

Corals:

• lots of zoas
• some rics
• a frogspawn
• acans
• and more!!

This is going to be an open tank so with the livestock I have chosen I will need to be carefull because there is a risk they might go carpet surfing....tell me what you think of the list please

I'm getting some Green Bay Packer zoas from a mod on another forum monday, I'm also getting a leather frag, and a frag pack.

I hope you enhjoy my tank. Comments and tips are greatly welcomed.

Just so you know I am a minor 12 y/o to be exact so please no dirty comments, talk or anything like that, I also do not like cursing in my threads. Is that do able?

I know you are reefing on a budget
but if you doubled up with a second T5 light fixture and had 4 lamps
then your coral options would increase significantly IME

I've been told that, I got this light for $35 from a geerous person so I took it, the tank is not deep, its only 20" I'm not really worried about it, tommarow I'm going to get some $5 frags from my LFS

 

I'm going to my LFS today to get some $5 frags, wikll be getting some candy cane and some zoas, will post pics later
