I'm all for open forum conversation, and I'd be interested in input from those members who might be mechanics--but I can't help thinking you might be better served doing a google search to find out what that particular error code entails, what lingering without repair might cause, etc.

I'll be the first to say 3reef rocks--but for advice regarding an issue that might cost you thousands? Maybe not so much? Dunno. .. . .

Basically, your car will run just fine. It will however have worse emissions and lower MPG.

You can run on it, but fix it when you can afford it.

Your car will not run as efficiently with a bad EGR. Basically it controls the recirculation of exhaust / unburned fuel to reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency. Your car may not run as smoothly, mpg will decrease, but it's not going to "blow up" on you. I would however, get it fixed as soon as you can as it's relatively important. It's also not that expensive to get replaced (or do it yourself).

As said above.... You can run with out it but will end up fouling plugs and O2 sensor so will cause some issues in the longer term.. Just be sure thats all that is the issue.. Good luck.
