I am trying to determine the best mechanical filtration for my tank. I am not pleased with the clarity of the water. The tank is a 65 gal w/ built in MegaFlow to a 20 gal sump. Its mainly fish only w/ live rock and some reef inhabitants. In the sump, I have a Mag5 returning water to the tank (prob about 350gph with the 4' of head). The pump sits on the other side of baffles, but any pad that I put before the pump seems to clog quickly and severly limits water to the pump. I have a good skimmer (Urchin) and UV sterilizer as well.

I am thinking about converting the return on the megaflow to a drain and getting a stronger pump. I dont have room for a cannister.

    All advice is appreciated

Use a micron bag at the entrance of the Sump
