I just fed Yoda for the first time. It was scary, I thought he was gonna climb up the stick. Hubby can feed from now on lol.

they are super smart creatures. It is a good idea for both of you to feed her/him for a while. They will learn that YOU ARE THE BRINGER OF THE FOOD and they will watch you very closely. I will put my hand in Bobs tank iwthout fear, but I will not allow anybody else to!

We have made an agreement, I will feed her and she will not eat me! LOL

I thought it was Bobbi? Bob for short :D

And I feel perfectly safe sticking my hand in my mantis tank. However, my mantis is only 1.5" so I'm not exactly in tons of danger. :p

Ya I guess we should both feed him. I sit beside his tank all day and I put my hands in to move a shell, and he just looked at me like 'ok that works' lol. I must admit I was scared but it needed to be done. Probably not the smartest thing I have done, but the lady at the lfs said he was tame.

He clearly knows who ppl are and knows that we do not mean him harm but that could change at any time I suppose.

If you haven't already I will be expecting you to join the stomatopod club. I will be sending you an invite after this post.

I will always call her Bob! ;D even though she is Bobita and/or Bobbi!

I am very glad also that so many people on here have mantis and as a result increasing the popularity of these animals.
