Hey everyone! I'm really excited about my big Christmas present that Epixstar got me.
A brand new 29gal BioCube! (Remember that 30% off sale my LFS had for Black Friday? )
So now I just need any and all advice as to what to modify and what to leave alone. (For example I've heard of people drilling the tops of just removing them all together) What would you recommend for any modifications.

My hopes for this tank is that I will be able to successfully keep a pair or seahorses so I'd like any thoughts on that as well.

***PICS SOON...WAITING FOR STAND TO FINISH DRYING (JUST PAINTED)***

Before filling with water I would modify chamber one by breaking the plastic floor so that it can be used for heaters (I also use for intake of chiller). Chamber 2 I use for a protein skimmer (removed the bioballs) and chamber 3 holds return of chiller water and all my sensors (PH/Temp). The biocubes can heat up the volume of water pretty quickly and I know sea horses are very fragile so you probably will need to consider how to maintain a consistent temp. I think you will be really happy with the Biocube :)

i agree with taking out the false floor in the back 2 chambers. i wish i did this earlier. would give me more depth for my fuge. i also scraped the black paint off the back to get a good view of the minifuge. as you can see i got rid of all mechanical filtration and now use liverock rubble and chaeto. when it comes to seahorse, you definatley need to find a way to produce live foods. (you are looking at the middle chamber) skimmer is in the overflow chamber

also a small coralife light. fits perfectly
