I think your's might be a new species of scooter dragonets, I'd say name it psychedelic scooter dragonet. Too bad the name doesn't do it just justice.......

My mom named him because she confused BioCube with the movie Bio Dome, lol.
He is a gorgeous little guy. I know you're never supposed to bring home a sickly looking specimen, but he was very skinny and really pale/dull. I felt so bad for him so I brought him home and fattened him up. I think he's showing his appreciation with his beautiful colors.

They're sooooo pretty and I love your tank.
The feather algae is very nice.

How long has your tank been running?

I'm interested because I'm planning on doing a tank with seahorses and peaceful fish and inverts. I've always loved seahorses and terrestrial horses too.

Again gorgeous tank. I hope mine looks half as good.

Why thank you so much Sky Fire.

My tank was born on Dec 31, it cycled in only two weeks but I waited until Feb 2 to add my first fish (Red Scooter). Then I waited a little more to see how he did.

I used the time to visit several LFSs around my area (some up to an hour away) just to find a store with the healthiest Captive Bred (cant stress than enough!) seahorses. If they were in a regular tank with other fish, If they were labeled at wild caught, or if the employee wouldnt let me see them eat/if they wouldnt eat, or if they tried to scoop them with a net I refused to buy from those stores.

I had been watching for about 2 years how one store treated theirs and I really liked it. I could watch them eat whenever I wanted, they handled them delicately and had their own 14gal nano set up for them. So that's who I got them from.

I'm so glad you were so picky about where to buy your seahorses from. That shows how responsible and caring you are. They are lucky you brought them home! And woohoo for buying tank bred!!

    Aw, Thank you:)
Im happy I was picky too, my bf sure wasnt though, lol. He had to cart me around to all these stores for months back and forth;D
I absolutely refused to get wild caught ones. (I didnt tell the LFSs that tho just so they'd tell me the truth) Some guys were proud that they were wild ponies:-/

He is. He tries to pretend like its a chore to take me to pet stores, but he loves it. I mean, he's the one with the 180gal and a collection of 9 antique Metaframe tanks!
    I only have a 55 and a 29:p
Oh, and he wants more! ::)
