I was just thinking, I won the "Best use of Nuisance Macro algae" by having a caulurpa outbreak. John said I could have a free piece of macro for my submission, and I told him as long as its not caulurpa....Well Meggy, eat your own words, lol. That's probably what Im gonna ask for.

    :alien:Why thank you master.

Yes please! Anything I can read up on these beauties would be very welcome.
I do intend to get more Macro from John than just the caulerpa...Not even sure if I've made up my mind that I do want Caulerpa, tho I would like some (Go ahead Divott, poke away:lol: *KOFFWomencantmaketheirmindsupwhat?KOFF*)

Any one know what kind of corals (If any) would pose as a good post for ponies that wouldnt harm them and could be grown in a 29g BC with PC lights? If there arent any, no big deal. BTW What are the proper care requirements of a sea fan of would I be better off getting a dead one?

    ok here we go
cold water no higher thank 74 degrees for them to thrive
fed three times a day- 2 minimum small amounts
they need pristine water quality so you should look into a refugium and a protein skimmer
30 gal minimum except for some dwarf species
no anemones or corals that sting
no other fish that will out compete it for food
they will eat frozen mysis shrimp
you will need some copepods so they can graze all day
    tank bred is a must
very low flow or a flow that doesnt change
reef params are good. no ammonia or nitrite. some nitrates (less that 20 ppm)
turn off filter until done eating
    selcon soak for added nutrition
and electric feeder may be helpful
    good luck!

    ta da!!

Even though Im broke as can be until Thursday I decided that since I was still feeling like crud, I would try to cheer myself up a bit and go to my fave LFS. I wanted to study how they have their 14gal nano cube set up for their seahorses for ideas and also see what species they have (couldnt remember if it was Kuda or Kelloggi).
I've seen over the past two years how healthy and vigorous their seahorses are so I've decided that when the time comes that Im going to get mine from the Fish Doctors in Trenton.
I like the fact that they have a separate tank for them and that they are really great about feeding any critter you're looking to buy so you can see them eat. They also have great maintenance on their tanks. I'm pretty confident that when my tank is ready I will start out with a pair of H. Kelloggi ponies from them.
