Melafix killed my tang!

Agreed Melafix is very mild and would not have killed the tang I have treated a yellow tang and kole tang several times with melafix and the eucalyptus in it has great healing properties. I think what killed the tang was either stress or simply lack of the ability to fight off infection.

 

Melafix lowers your oxygen levels to a Large degree! Your product does not sound like it has been comprimised. I have had an entire tank wiped out due to this product. Its a good product and works great if you add an airstone or some source or air to aid the exchange of gasses and get more O2 in your tank. Very sorry to hear about your losses. I have sent several emails to the maker of melafix asking them to label their product to reflect the O2 losses it creates. Shame on them for not doing so! Many, many people have had this happen, i dicovered through research, and many of them have brought it to the producers knowlage. Sorry again for your losses
