Melafix, please i need help

    hi all i need some help. my clown fish first had ick then he got pop eye in both eyes. my nitrates and nitrite were high i did a 50% water change and the pet store said to use this stuff called melafix anybody heard of it is it reef safe too late though i put it in. every thing else in the tank is healthy but 1 clown. with this meds should i keep the protien skimmer off i have a wet dry with built in protien skimmer i can turn the skimmer off only whitch i did. please help

    We had the rep come to our reef club meeting, they are real nice... and people there (members) had good things to say about the melafix.

    thank you for the site but should i keep the protien skimmer off while i medicate so the protien skimmer dont pull the meds out

    Yes, turn that protien skimmer off. It will probly make the skimmer go beserk. I assume you are using this for the popeye and not the Ick. Melefix works great with my cichlids. Fortunatly I haven't had to use it for any of my marine fish yet.
