    My melanarus will only eat snails if they're already flipped over. At that point, he'll slam them against the glass a few times, and pick at them. He doesn't eat the feather dusters, and I don't think he goes after the hermits. My purple tang thinks he's a cleaner wrasse, and goes up to him constantly the way he would go up to a cleaner shrimp or goby. They sleep in the sandbed, so you need at least 3 inches of sand in the tank. They don't really bother any other fish, but sometimes steals food from corals.

    He also likes to eat crazy glue.
