I think the melanurus is pretty hard to find. So I'd just try it Tracy!

i have a melanurous in my 55. i love it. it survived my ich outbreak back in October (only fish that did). although i have suspected that it has picked on my hermits a couple times i have never been close enough to catch it red handed. they definitely need a DSB. when i first brought it home it dove into the sand and didnt see it again for 3 days. after a couple weeks he was very active. he also sleeps in the sand When i added a yellow wrasse there was a little "tension" between the 2 for maybe 2 days, but now follow each other around. very active eater, anything i put in the tank (flakes, mysis, pellets).
i have tons of dwarf certh snails, never bothers them. They are supposedly good for vermetid snails, but wont touch any in my tank so i wouldnt rec getting one to control them specifically.

anyways....i would rec the fish to anyone
i might take a picture after my girlfriend goes to bed. she always makes fun of me for taking pictures of my tank.

oh yeah, i have since added a regular and purple firefish. never bothered them from day one.

pre-ich outbreak i had him, sleeper goby, and royal gramma. got along great with them too.
