I was in my car today and got into the left hand turn lane that goes into our subdivision. About 300 yards past this is a major intersection. Plus our enterance into our subdivision is hid by bushes and such. So I always watch my tail when I am turning into it

Anyway, I went into the turn lane and had my signal on. I was at a dead stop waiting for the ability to turn. I look back in my rearview mirror and I see a dude on a motorcycle coming at a good clip. Then I see him take a spill and roll. Thankfully the car in the other lane stopped or else I think he would have been hit.

I get out to see if he is ok. Sadly other cars just kept on their merry way (What in the world!) He got up, his arms and legs skinned up. There were a couple of other guys walking that came up to check on him. He thankfully was ok...but his only concern was his bike! I kept asking him if he was ok and him and the other 2 guys were trying to check his bike. His bike did not restart but he was ok!

That is the difference between women and guys. When I totalled my car (flipped it on the highway) I was just thankful everyone was ok. But these 3 guys were concerned over the bike

By the way I told this guy to stop riding his bike. He said that he had been riding for less then a year and this was his SECOND crash!

Sounds like someone needs some riding gear...maybe when they use the metal wire brush on his road rash he'll learn ;)

But yes. As soon as I knew I was ok, I would be very worried about the bike :D I mean...who wouldn't? That's a several thousand dollar pride and joy right there.

he was lucky, it was sad just a few weeks ago a 23 year old guy got hit by a car on a major street just before a freeway onramp. the biker had the right away with a green light going straight, and a car had made an illegal left hand turn into a shopping center and sadly slammed right into the kid and his bike. The guy did not make it and his bike was torn apart. My parents and i drove by probably right after it happened because they had the entire street blocked off, and his body was covered. It was so sad.

so the guy that got hit by the car in your incident must be happy that he is still alive, motorcycles are neat, but i would never go on one

Some people just don't remember that its only a piece of metal. In my mind my car is not only designed to get me around but to take one for the team and save me and my passengers in the event of a wreck.

Heck...I'd be bummed about my car if it got totalled :( My machinery I carry around is still mine. It would feel very different to have to lose a perfectly good whatever and replace it with an unfamilar whatever.

However a bike is more "for play" than a car is. So I'd miss the bike more.

when I was 16 I had a motorcycle crash. I was watching a couple of girls in my mirror when my bike veered off of the road and into gravel. When I laid the bike down, my toe got caught under my shifter while my body rolled twice. it shattered my ankle and most of the upper half of my body was road rash. My once black helmet was almost white from the scuffing and I couldn't see through the visor. I was fine and the adrenaline was killing the pain untill I looked over and saw my motorcycle laying there leaking gas from around the cap. That's when I started crying. The two girls stopped tho so atleast I got to talk to them (and a hug from one)
