metal halide bulbs

    Hi I am using a odyssea lighting system and when i changed my 250 watt odyssea bulbs to XM bulbs the xm bulbs wouldnot work. Can anybody tell me which bulbs would work in this system.

    Found this on another website: Hope it helps

    1.move the bulb that you know works to the other spots to see if it lights there.

    2.Plug the ballasts directly into the wall-no timers etc...

    3.Try the old bulbs in the spots that aren't working to see if they still work

    If it's an odyssea fixture/ballasts it's because they are crappy ballasts, but there is a possible fix here:

    Fix your Odyssea 250W for less than $15, and actually get 250W from it! - Michigan Reefers

    its because the ballast that comes with the systems are weak. i think bluelife bulbs work based on this thread.

    Why did they not work? Are they too long? I thought my new bulbs wouldn't fit but turned out the socket is adjustable and can slide back and forth for longer or shorter bulbs.. Take a picture of it.

    SPS bulbs should work with the Oddysea units, they have their own internal starters. Also the best MH bulb anyways IMHO ;)
