    Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you can get the sodium vapors in the correct color spectrum for our reef tanks.

    Nope,  better go with MHs. HPS are not MH!

    The Kelvin rating for this type of bulb is very low, less than 4000k. This is a very yellowish type of light and you cannot put a metal halide light in with this type of ballast either. Sorry :(
