metal halide for sale on Ebay question

I was looking at this link.

Would this work for a reef tank. I don't know about the bulb, but what about the fixture?

 

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you can get the sodium vapors in the correct color spectrum for our reef tanks.

 

Nope,  better go with MHs. HPS are not MH!

 

Okay thanks I didn't know the difference between HPS and MH.

 

The Kelvin rating for this type of bulb is very low, less than 4000k. This is a very yellowish type of light and you cannot put a metal halide light in with this type of ballast either. Sorry
