Well...It must have been luck, the light doesnt want to start today. and i've tried everything, I tried before. It must be that light, and got lucky with the pulse start up. On to try a new bulb(probe start).

    thanks for the help

Unplug the bulb socket from the ballast and look inside of the socket you will see 3 little brass pan head screws tighten them up one or more is loose from the base heating from a loose connection will cause this problem I'll post the info for the hard start kits tomorrow been down with a cold and not really feeling like looking in a supply manual. :)

Just clip one of these hard start kits onto the existing starting Capacitor and away it will go.. But I do think the screws in the socket are the problem check them first .. I hope this Link works not a computer person myself..On and off is about it for me.
Compressor Hard Start Boosters A few yrs ago when USHIO came out with the new starter bulbs I just addded thse to them all and never a problem will increase the par value also.

    OK...

So now I've taken the entire bulb socket apart and reassembled, bent the end cap up a litle for better connection...then the light still doesnt start up. But then as before I try twisting it a little to see if I can get an arc..and BAM I'm blinded by beautiful 14K 250w light.

My conclusion...I'm tired of messing with this bulb. Just bought a new one that is probe start and supposed to be for my m58 ballast. I guess the twisting of my current bulb was enough of a spark to get the "pulse" it needed for the pulse start bulb.

Anyway....My light is on now, may not be on tomorrow, but my new bulb will be here soon. And I will keep you posted.

And Tangster...thanks for the help... i may end up using the other idea as well

    Thanks

    Rob
