    :eek: yeah, plus, every time I get in there fiddling around I burn my arm on that damn fixture. This will also cure that problem! ;D

    You don't know how many times I have burned myself by touching my halide pendants when cleaning the inside of my tank glass or adjusting my corals! However, I am getting accustomed to it and if it benefits my tank and its inhabitants then so be it! Hahahaha!

    Step 1 done! I mounted the light assy. externally, and removed the lens. After 4 hours the water is still only 79 deg. By noon yesterday it was at 84, where it pretty much stayed all day. I feel a lot better about this now. The light also has much better color without the lens! I'll be adding another light in a month or so (when we start adding corals). Great advice folks!
