150w MH aint nothing. Thats probally perfect for mushrooms. When you see mushrooms all expanded out, that means they are trying to absorb as much light as possible meaning they are not getting enough light. 150w MH should not be used on anything over 12" deep in my personal experience.

Just because its 150w light, doesnt mean anything other then it uses 150 watts of electricity.

You know, it could be a temp issue as well, as it's been warmer than usual here so my tank has been warmer than I like. I prefer it to be 77/78 at most but it's been getting closer to 80 the past several days.

I would guess that has to do with not getting enough light. As others have mentioned here, and I realize as well, mushrooms will expand and even stretch upwards to try and get more light. I just want mine to be open and rather flat, which to me means they are doing well. They were shrinking up somewhat before.

Well 80ºF still ok for most, 77º to 79º is where I try to keep mine, mushroom do not require much light at all, lately the outside temp has been from 28º to 40º in the mornings and around 59º in the evening, so it has been pretty hard to keep it above 77º w/o a big power bill

Remember mushrooms are low light species...
