    cool. Running fans on my MH is not practical as this is a display tank.

    I guess I'll keep it open until i find a better solution :)

    I run a glass top on one of mine with the light just inches above it. I've had no problems with it and it definitely helps with evaporation.

    I also run a glass top on mine with 3 250 watt hqis just 6" above the glass. Have a remote sump in basement to deal with heat and gas exchange. works out great

    I use tempered glass. It holds up to the heat of MHs better. I use the glass in my hood. It contains the heat allowing me to run a pair of fans to more effectively cool the bulbs. Yes, you have to clean it every once in a while... but I do not have to run a chiller due to this setup.
