sometimes they just do that. It could be that they didn't acclimate as well as the others, maybe not enough food in the tank for them, could be old. I've had several hermits and astrea snails die for no apparent reason, just replace them and keep on going.

Are these turbo snails we are talking about?
Most common cases of invert death are high nitrates, salinty swings/problems, or stray voltage

My nitrates are always close to zero, yet somehow, out of the total number of turbo snails i put into my tank, only half survive past a few days. This is only wth turbos too. Other snails and hermits do just fine. For some reason, the acclimation success I have with turbos are really bad...Im interested in why as well.

any copper in the tank? or any new rock or equipment that was in a tank w/ copper? Copper is used in treating sick fish...and in QT tanks, and I know copper even small amounts are deadly to snails.

    Good luck

Turbos in general like water temp to be under 78... they are a cool water snail. I have never been able to successfully keep them for long and I figure that is the reason because I can keep any other type of snail/invert with no problems.
