Phoenix 14k will be a very nice bulb... Idk if they make ushio in DE 150w but the 14k is one of my favorite bulbs...
You are to the point that you can't get cheap bulbs nemore because of your corals. Unless the make ushio in DE, Phoenix is ur best bet

Yes... Idk what ballast your running but under most ballasts, the ushio is a very nice icy white and has real good growth
on most ballasts the Phoenix is a little bluer and has decent growth and good color.

You should be happy with both bulbs

yes. i am not a fan of XM... they are good bulbs but very white and I personally feel you dont get nice colors out of them :(

SPS bulbs are AMAZING!!! Ushio 14k and SPS 10k are hands down the two best bulbs on the market... However, I only have experience with the SE 250w SPS bulbs so I cant provide any feedback on the 150w DE

I am sure the SPS will be great also (but be careful with the sps 14k bulbs... the 250w have very low PAR)

FWIW. About a couple of months ago I replaced my Phoenix 14k's 250w de to the Reeflux 10k's.

Well I miss my phoenix 14k's :(. Ordering my phoenixs to replace these reeflux's. I miss that crisp blue.

    you will be satisfied :D

but check these out... iwasaki 50000k bubls. apparently their PAR is equal to that of a 250w SE and the color is between a "typical" 14k and 20k? maybe worth checking out...
