I am in the process of buying a lighting system for my 46 gallon. There is a metal halide/t-5 fixture for around $239. It is a total of 442 watts (250 MH 15K, 2 96 watt compact flourescents and moon lights). Is this going to be too much? 9.6 watts per gallon sounds like overkill. Also, are compact flourescents the same as power compacts?
