Looks like I'll be looking for some ATI bulbs in the near future.

In theory this would work well, but as far as all the LED's I've seen that are meant to be purely accent lights they are completely drown out by T5's. Once I get bulbs in the fixture that give more of the color I like, I think I'll be able to live without shimmer.

Although im a big guy on MH... i would recommend at least one fiji purple. your corals will thank you more than ever because its a special bulb that has high output in the yellow and red wavelengths. you dont find these wavelengths in other t5 bulbs.

That's one I was considering. What type of bulbs are best for coral fluorescents? Just for some reference to what I'm looking for, I'm a 20k halide fan. I would love to come close to matching that with T5's and still get good growth if possible.

Yes, ATI bulbs, especially the blue + are steps beyond every one else's bulbs. And their cost is the lowest of all the good brands of t5s. the fiji purple, really isn't that purple, but it does have nice PAR numbers. The KZ fiji purple is around 10 dollars more than an ATI, but it does bring out some nice interesting colors that other bulbs don't.

Yep, and that makes them by far the highest PAR rating for any blue/ actinic bulb.

They actually have higher PAR readings than some 10-12k daylight t5ho bulbs.
