    For Fowlr tanks 400w would work for coral I would go 1000w with lumenbright reflectors or something similar

    This is a fish only tank so PAR is not important. If it was a reef I might suggest something different but since it is a fish only, he might be able to get away with 3 - 100w cannons. Like I said, Ecoxotic has lots of experience in lighting large deep tanks with their Cannon. It would not hurt to give them a call.

    +1^^^ I def belive this is going to be your best bet all around cost effective in the long run and with the huge startup cost of needing a big chiller and all the mh parts I think you would save a bunch of money by switching to geico... my bad got a little carried away haha;D

    LEDs, 4 AI fixtures would rock. You can grow some awesome coral down the road, and you don't have to worry about blowing bulbs etc. More expensive up front but I am already saving close to the amount of one of my fixtures with my electric bill alone. I ran 6 t5s and a 250MH before. Now I run 2 AI fixtures (super blue)
