MH running costs

I liken my 2x250w MH setup as just another computer running in the house for 8 hours a day. Yes, my PSU is 550w on my PC

 

lol I never thought of it that way. I have a PC as a server that I never use but is running...haha killing myself on electricity. Should shut that down and get me some MH's.

As far as having a larger tank = more wattage. Not necessarily true. My 80g uses just as much wattage besides the lights due to me buying energy efficient items. Sometimes you either pay a lot in the beginning or a lot in the long run. Either way it really evens out.

 

for sure! i have a 800W supply in my PC for gaming purposes. darn video cards use alot of power these days. i also have 3 servers. ill just turn one of em off when i goto MH

lol I surely don't have anything like that running, but I might be able to turn some of the wife's equipment ( hard dryer, coffee pot, her laptop) off so I can have the extra juice for my tank...lol
