currently i am running 2 jbj viper hang on tank 150w mh with three 12" stunner led strips on my 65g. i use led for dusk and dawn. I have been considering swapping the mh for a led fixture. How many watts would i need for the 65g and what are some good reasonable brands?

Wattage rules do not apply to LEDs. You will want about 48-80 cree LEDs, or 55-110 bridgelux LEDs, depending on how much sps you have.

check ecoxotic they have some good priced fixtures. there are also the more expensive ones like the radeon, one downfall to led's is they are very expensive.

Crees are more efficient than bridgelux, 2 crees is about equal to 3 bridgelux.
