    a couple of weeks ago i bought a sea cucumber , it was doing ok eating sand and pooping sand pellets ,but i havent seen it for about a week now is this normal or not? i know ive heard if they die they can screw up the tank with toxin but nothing seems to be wrong all others in tank seem fine anybody got any ideas?

    nah they can shrink up and get into crevices you don't even know are in your tank. if it is dead it'll be a slime ball rolling around with the flow...you'll see it soon enough, it'll show back up

    mine would disappear for a week or so, before long it would show up again... Mine was doing great until I dropped a chunck of live rock on it.. I miss him!!!! :bigcry::bigcry:

    It is not the death of a cuke that releases poison. If the cuke is distressed then they will expel their digestive track to wart of attackers. The toxins in their digestive track is what can wreck havoc on your tank.
    He will come back in a few days if not then your clean up crew will have a good feast. ;)
