So, we got a juvenile Imperator Angel on the 17th of April, acclimated it for about 90 minutes (maybe a bit more). At first he was swimming slowly all around the tank (lights out, moonlights on), the next day he was staying somewhat hidden, I did not see him eat. Went to work and so did my wife, no one home till 6pm. When I got home, I noticed the power had gone out (clock on oven flashing) and the neighbour said it was out for 3 hours .... yikes !!!! that means 3 hours with no pumps running in my tank ...
Anyway, I saw the Imperator that night before I went to bed, and he looked normal. The next day I worked early (left the house at 3:45AM) and when I got home at 9:15PM my wife said she hadn't seen the Imperator that day. I was too tired, looked for a couple minutes but didn't see him. Today I went to work at 6am, got back at 4:30pm and looked for the Imperator for about 20 mins with no luck, so I decided to move some LR around to see if I could find it, well I pretty much moved all the LR around, I saw all the livestock (even my orange striped prawn goby that is so tiny and that we never see) but no Imperator !!! Could it be hiding in the LR somewhere, or do you think it got eaten up that quickly ?
It shares the 65 gallon tank with a Gold Stripe Maroon Clown, Coral Beauty, Orange Striped Prawn Goby, Gold Head Goby, Eyelash Blenny, 3 mexican turbos, 2 astrea snails, 5 trachus, 12 hermit crabs, 4 emerald crabs, 1 bubble tip anemone, 2 peppermint shrimps, 4 baby skunk cleaner shrimps and one black sea urchin (and yes I counted all those were in there today still :p)

    Here's a pic I took on the 17th:

It still could be hiding, I don't think the clean up crew could totally eat it within that time frame. I have known fish to "stick" to the under sides of rocks and even hide within rocks, but it doesn't sound good for the angel. Hopefully you find him soon.

    thanks guys !
I keep thinking he jumped, but we can't find him anywhere. And if my 17 month old found him and hid him, I'd think we'd smell it by now ? He's my favorite, after my maroon clown :)

lol. I'm pretty worried, I mean, I moved every piece of LR in that tank lol, I looked over, under, left and right, lights on, lights off, pumps on, pumps off, food in the tank .... nothing ! I know I had an imperator in there because:
    1- I have a picture of it
2- I have a receipt for it and my bank account was debited for that amount .....

Do you have overflows? 4 emerald crabs can do some serious eating especially if he freaked out when the power went out. That's my guess.

no overflows, tank is a "stock" Red Sea Max 250. That's what I am wondering, although I had a pygmy angel die in my old tank (went away for less than 48 hours ...) it was much smaller and still half of it was left when we got back. I guess the cleanup crew was really hungry !
