OK, I've noticed several brittle stars that I thought were micro brittle as they were only a little bigger than a quarter at the tips of the legs. I found one this morning that's about 2 1/2 to 3 inches from tip to tip.

What is the risk of predation as it grows? I do have several fish that live in or under rocks (wrasse, gobies, firefish)

IDk about the risk of predation from the starfish eating your fish, would depend a lot on the size of the star and size of the fish obviously.

I can say there is a 100% chance of human vs starfish predation if a star would eat my fish though :LolLolLol

All of the fish are very healthy, the smallest of them is the male clown but he sleeps on top of my heater so there isn't much risk there.

I feed frozen brine or mysid shrimp regularly so he should be getting his meaty fill...I hope.

While most anything can become opportunistic if it gets hungry enough, serpents are more likely than brittles to do so. To be on the safe side, you might want to offer it a small piece of krill or other meaty food on a feeding probe once or twice weekly.

Is it by chance green? Green brittle stars are very able and aggressive hunters.

There are several species of "micro brittles", and there are indeed a couple that reach the 2" - 3" size range. These species aren't known as pedators.

However, as mentioned, the green brittle in particular are known piscivores.
